St Florent

St Florent

The petite St Tropez

A Chic Former Fishing Village

St Florent is Corsica’s answer to St Tropez. A chic former fishing village. Laced by vineyards and with a ludicrous selection of beaches a short sail away. The only difference? St Tropez welcomes thousands of superyachts each summer. St Florent welcomes a mere handful.

A Sybaritic Eden

Your Guide to St Florent

A Sybaritic Eden

This ancient port is a sybaritic Eden. Sandal and swimwear shops peep from stone mansions. Pastis and passeggiata are the resort’s principal pastimes. The only noise is when two pétanque balls clink. Stop on your St Florent yacht charter at the town’s sole historical attraction, the Martello Tower, a Genoese fort built to deter pirates in 1520. However, as citizens were too busy sipping rosé, it was left to crumble slowly into the sea. The snorkeling underneath is world-class.

Explore the Route des Vins

Arrive thirsty. Because A-grade vineyards ring St Florent like emerald waves. Ride the Route des Vins on mountain bikes, quad bikes or in our air-conditioned SUV. The route’s 33 vineyards are the legacy of Greek, Roman and Genoese occupation. Each one welcomes guests with varieties of nielluccio (a toothsome tannic red, like Bordeaux on steroids) and vermentino (an aromatic white, that kapows with apple zest). A Y.CO yacht charter specialist will be on hand to translate during your wine tour. Although we find words become unnecessary after the third glass.

Stunning Beaches

Beaches? Mother Nature was drinking Pol Roger when she blessed St Florent’s shores. On Plage Patrimonio the only shadows are those cast by yacht hulls on the sandy sea bed. On Plage Catarelli you can write your name on the beach in tiny pebbles, then photograph it using your yacht's drone. Plage Fiume Santo is a completely wild beach. There’s a river on one side, the sea on the other. The beach’s sole visitors are horseback riders from the Caval'en Liberté riding school, where horses are trained in bucolic hills for trots through forests, vineyards and sand.

A Picnic From Paradise

St Florent’s best beach? Plage Loto. This Thai-style beach pairs powder sand with translucent seas. For jetskis, waterskis, kayaks and hammocks, there’s nowhere like it on earth. Lunchtime? Order the sand-in-the-toes menu of your dreams. Crew will prepare a picnic from paradise. With loungers, linens, barbecues, beers, tables, tents and a volleyball net.
