Amels, now part of the Damen yachting family, recently celebrated 100 years in industry and continues to produce some of the most impressive superyacht new builds to date. Amels is a Dutch yacht brand rooted in history and heritage craftsmanship, beginning in 1918 when Kees Amels started a boat building business producing wooden fishing boats and steel tugboats in the Netherlands. They eventually delivered their first superyacht in 1982, firmly placing Dutch building at the forefront of the fast-emerging superyacht industry.
Multi Award-Winning
Amels produces a Limited Editions collection of yachts that have proved incredibly popular since their launch due to their semi-custom capabilities and fast delivery times. The Amels 60 has become popular for both yacht charter and yacht sales in the 60m range, now with high desirability. Amels 80 won a superyacht award in 2024 for best yacht design in the 80m range, and Amels 180 Explorer Yacht has also received multi award-winning status, offering more spacious and a larger beach club compared to its predecessor, Amels 171.
Ever-Evolving
Whilst Amels has seen great success with their semi-custom ranges, they are still vastly adept at building bespoke yachts to your exact specification, having successfully built superyachts in the 100m+ range, with their largest yacht to date currently in build, 120m Project Tanzanite, due to be delivered in 2025. Now, as part of the Damen family, Amels can spearhead technological advancements in the superyacht space, further producing yachts that are as beautiful as they are functional, and with great consideration to efficiency improvements that now rightfully play such a large part in yacht sales and ownership.

Amels is the superyacht division of the family-owned master shipbuilders Damen Yachting, having been acquired by Kommen Damen in 1991. Amels is a superyacht brand that is synonymous with luxury and comfort, upheld by a reputation for employing the world’s best craftsman.
