The big news for yacht charter parties? Ischia was born in a volcanic explosion just 66,000 years ago. The island’s 34km coastline is stacked with impassable cliffs - that hide boat-only-beaches galore. Ask your crew to tender you to Varulo beach. It has a snorkel-friendly seabed rich with Neptune grass and baby fish. Visit Spiaggia San Pancrazio beach on your Ischia yacht charter; t is only for yachts - and is as removed from London's St Pancras as you can possibly get. Ischia even has its own Technicolor sea cave, the Grotta Verde. You can snorkel inside then swim back to your waiting tender.
On Ischia’s southern shore, the fortress town of Sant'Angelo is small but perfectly formed. An isthmus of beach separates a castle island from a postcard-perfect village. Local restaurants specialise in pizzas, gelatos and caffè affogatos, all of which look as good as the view of Capri beyond. For more sand, try Spiaggia Le Fumarole. It’s a short RIB ride - or splash-tastic kayak race - away. Here volcanic fumaroles bubble under the shore, rendering each swim a Jacuzzi bath.
