Back in 1978, a successful entrepreneur Frans Heesen, largely recognised for his presence in the plastics industry, quickly discovered an interest in the local shipyards of Oss, in the Netherlands. During that year, Frans channeled his energy into shipbuilding and Heesen Yachts was born, quickly growing to become a highly established Dutch shipyard with a global reputation. In 1988, Heesen delivered the fastest superyacht in the world, 44m Octopussy, reaching a top speed of 50 kts where at the time only 25 kts had previously been achieved.
Series, Smart, Full Custom
Speedy superyacht, Octopussy, was a groundbreaking moment for Heesen and confirmed their place in the upper echelons of distinguished shipbuilders. Heesen has launched more than 200 yachts since its inception and continues to contribute to the evolution of the superyacht industry. They offer Series, Smart Custom, and Full Custom designs, creating the opportunity to explore fully-flexible custom yacht projects.
