Heesen yachts is a luxury yacht builder of custom and semi-custom superyachts in aluminium and steel, from 30 – 70m in length. Based in Oss, The Netherlands, the shipyard is dedicated to pioneering new designs and build processes, and is perhaps best known for its steel-hulled displacement motor yachts, which were developed to meet Clients’ demands for fuel-efficient, yet fast motor yachts.
The Heesen Story
The Semi-Custom Superyacht Model
Heesen was founded in 1978 in the town of Oss, the Netherlands by Frans Heesen. Having had a background in the hi-tech plastics industry before moving into yachting, he was able to combine his knowledge with the talented maritime craftsmen and artisans in this area, and it was this that led to the use of aluminium in superyacht hull design.

Breakthrough Fast Displacement Yachts
In 1992 the superyacht builder expanded the business to include the construction of traditional displacement yachts, and in 2003, Heesen Yachts was the first luxury superyacht builder to introduce the semi-custom superyacht model, with their breakthrough "fast displacement" superyachts.
