To paraphrase Jay Gatsby, Malahne is a classic boat that “beats on, borne against the current.” Delivered in 1937 by Camper & Nicholsons and painstakingly restored by Pendennis in 2015, the 50m motor yacht oozes Art Deco style and genuine Hollywood glamour. Once the production HQ for Lawrence of Arabia, luminaries like Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra have walked her teak decks.

Benefiting from the eye of Scottish designer Guy Oliver (best known for styling London’s 10 Downing Street and Claridge’s), Malahne’s period interior enjoys a bespoke lighting scheme that uses original materials from the 1930s. Rich woods, patterned fabrics and muted colour schemes that reflect the spirit of her glory days are complemented by authentic details, such as Baccarat crystal, Willer porcelain and a collection of Georg Jensen silver cutlery from 1937. A lamp by Art Deco designer Edgar Brandt elevates the main saloon.
On Board
Accompanying the stunning mothership for jaunts to sheltered bays is a 7.5m custom-built Cockwells varnished Brazilian mahogany high-speed tender. Stored under shade on the upper deck aft (or kept outboard in fair weather), the owner’s launch (only available in summer) sports quilted maple veneer trimming. Reaching a top speed of 35 knots, the elegant tender transports eight guests and crew in style. In the winter season, a 7.3m Whitmarsh Rib steps in.
On Board
The full-beam master cabin is a lesson in legacy making. Accompanied by a private lobby, the inviting space gifts barefoot luxury with soft, blue carpets made by Taylor Smith in London and tactile fabrics from Claremont Furnishings. The curvaceous ensuite bathroom is marble-clad with a symmetrical layout that centres around a full-size bathtub. No expense is spared in all guest cabins, including the lower deck twin where a pair of writing desks hit the note.

Service
Service
From cosy nooks on the main deck aft to sprawling loungers on the upper deck, Malahne’s exterior spaces are serviced by a tight knit crew of 11 to ensure all 10 guests’ onboard experience is as elegant as the boat itself. Shade is found under the sun awning aft, along with al fresco dining, itself elevated by the yacht’s talented resident chef.
Toys
Toys
Please note that the tenders and toys on board the yachts are regularly updated. Please contact Y.CO for the most up to date list.
Toys
Alongside a 6.25m Williams Jet tender, Malahne’s guests have laser sailing dinghies, kayaks and paddle boards at their disposal. For greater speeds, waterskis, a monoski, wakeboards and kneeboards will satisfy. For the kids, a raft of towables will bring the thrills. There’s even a Go Pro Hero 4 camera to capture the high octane footage, day after day.
Performance
Performance
Originally designed and built for the owner of renowned J-Class yacht, Velsheda, classic motor yacht Malahne accommodates 10 guests in six cabins. The former steam locomotive broke the world speed record of her day. Now fully restored, the steel-hulled displacement boat boasts zero speed stabiliser, air conditioning and a comfortable cruising speed of 12.5 knots thanks to her twin Caterpillar C32 engines.
