The Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard was founded in 1907 by Henry Rasmussen and Georg Abeking founded the Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard in 1907 in Lemwerder, Germany. Rasmussen was a well-known skipper who also proved to be a talented yacht designer and he won respect in the racing community for his 12m yachts. Under his guidance, produced a portfolio of wooden sailing and motor yachts as well as fast patrol boats and other specialized ships, both in the private and commercial sector.

Why Choose Abeking & Rasmussen

A Pioneer Of Technical Innovation

Rasmussen’s grandson Hermann Schaedla took over the yard in 1959, and over the five decades that followed, Abeking & Rasmussen established a reputation for technical innovation, pioneering the use of lightweight materials in hull construction and sound-dampening technology. With the motor yacht imdustry flourishing, Schaedla turned over the reins to his son, Hans in 2009, although continued to provide direction until his death in 2011.

Why Choose Abeking & Rasmussen

Pioneering Excellence

Abeking and Rasmussen are a world-leading, family owned superyacht builder, based in Lemwerder, near Bremen in Germany. With a reputation for pioneering new technologies, the yard has built some of the most technically advanced yachts in the world. Many of the projects they have built are known for having overcome technical engineering challenges, such as Germania VI in 1963, the first sailing yacht with a welded aluminium hull and the 1972 motor yacht Kalamoun, the world’s fastest at the time, reaching speeds of 46 knots. Abeking & Rasmussen’s drive to set new benchmarks could not be exemplified more clearly than with Intensity, launched in 2020 and created in collaboration with Winch Design and Y.CO.
