Extreme Adventures

A combination of natural phenomena make Vulcano a dramatic experience, as the crater of the Fossa di Vulcano languorously smokes out Sulphur. Legend tells that the volcano was the chimney of the fire god Vulcan. Today, the crater can be climbed to reach a peak overlooking the Aeolian archipelago and another volcanic summit, mount etna. The most adventurous can walk round the entire crater over sulfurous fumaroles and even venture down inside.
