Porto Rotondo

Little Venice. Big beaches.

Little Venice for Luxury Yachts

In 1964 two Italian architects had a plan. They would build a little Venice for luxury yachts beside Sardinia’s best beaches. The result is Porto Rotondo. An impossibly elegant marina where discreet sun-seekers come to play. The ‘closed’ sign in swimwear store Vilebrequin sums up Porto Rotondo’s sunny spirit: ‘Back Tomorrow – Gone Tanning’.

Your Guide to Porto Rotondo

The Jet Set’s Favourite

Those beaches? Pinch yourself. Spiaggia Banana is a yellow curve of soft sand, juxtaposed against cobalt shallows. Spiaggia Le Piscine is a swimming pool lagoon of transparent sea. Spiaggia Punta Volpe is a perfect half-moon of sand that’s empty at sunset. Ten further sandy coves sit w ithin a20-minute motor away - although some yacht charter guests prefer to kayak, paddleboard, RIB ride or dinghy sail. Need for speed? Your Y.CO charter specialist can organise a Tuk-Tuk safari to the beach. Last one in the water buys the beach bar ice creams.

A Stylish Getaway

150 islands orbit Sardinia. The nature reserve of Molara Island tops the lot. Peregrine falcons rule the skies. Bottlenose dolphins rule the waves. Wild cattle - abandoned by a previous island overrule the interior forest of mastic trees. Molara Island’s beaches? They could grace a Condé Nast Traveller cover story. Although we think it would be more fun to build the world’s biggest sandcastle, with Y.CO cocktail umbrellas for parasols.

An Emerald-hued Paradise

By snorkel or scuba, Molara Island’s depths are unfathomably fabulous. Crew will help you strap on snorkels to spy octopi and damselfish. Press record at will. Your subaquatic images will be screened on your Y.CO yacht’s video wall. With Aperol Spritz to accompany. That’s the magic of a Sardinia yacht charter right there.
