On the seventh day, God created Montenegro. An Alpine haven by the Adriatic. With 600,000 souls scattered in mountains, lakes, and bays, it's pristine, hosting diverse wildlife and Europe's highest biodiversity. Ripe for exploration.
Barely sailed in centuries.

YOUR GUIDE TO MONTENEGRO
Nature's Symphony
The Good Lord was helped by Mother Nature. The Ice Age whipped Montenegro’s mountains into rugged peaks. You can ski in April before snowmelt feeds rivers fit for rafting and canyoning. The torrent fills Lake Skadar. Expect a National Park where guests can canoe with 270 bird species in a 400 km2 ocean of waterlilies. Those same azure streams flow into the Adriatic Sea along 300km of coast. And what a coastline. It’s laced with highlands and islands, beaches and bays.

Natural Landscape to Behold
1,000m-high cliffs protect the greatest natural harbour in Europe and the City of Kotor within. Little wonder the scene has barely changed in 500 years, making it one of four UNESCO-protected musts. The mountainous backdrop gave the nation its name. The Venetians allowed the ‘montenegro’, or black mountains, to protect the coast, while they fortified the shoreline with castles, lighthouses and city walls. All of which exist today.
Your Guide to Montenegro
Steeped in History
In Montenegro the 20th century was a double-edged sword. Sea battles and socialist struggles left shipwrecks and a shoreline that was strictly off-limits. All that changed in 2006. After independence the country’s naval base became Porto Montenegro, the hippest marina this side of Monaco. Submarine tunnels became kayak spots. Montenegro remains a kaleidoscope of contrasts. A brand-new nation where guests are a welcome surprise. A tiny nation with a huge heart.
REASONS TO VISIT
WHY WE LOVE MONTENEGRO
Untouched
Because Montenegro is totally new. Europe’s youngest country has barely encountered tourism. It receives as many visitors in a year as Beijing’s Forbidden City can receive in a week. In some places you’ll be the first to anchor, kayak, cave dive or paraglide. Montenegrins are so proud you’ve sailed in that they’ll welcome you with your weight in prosciutto and cheese.
Waiting to be Explored
There’s another advantage to Montenegro’s sheer topography. The largest seaside city has barely 20,000 residents. The seas are unsailed and unsullied, left instead to leaping tuna and dancing dolphins.
