Why Choose Nobiskrug
Setting the Standard
Nobiskrug is a German builder of wholly custom, steel-hulled luxury superyachts from 60m up to over 200m in length. The Nobiskrug shipyard is known for using the finest German craftsmanship to build the most innovative superyachts on the market. This German family-oriented shipyard is invested in researching and utilising cutting-edge technologies, pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
Charting New Horizons
Yachts built by Nobiskrug are designed to make waves, both literally - their fleet includes some of the largest superyachts in the world – and figuratively – due to the cutting-edge technology they display. The shipyard’s slogan is “German superyachts for the 22nd Century” and it’s fair to say that Nobiskrug yachts are ahead of their time in every way.
The Nobiskrug Story
Evolution of Innovation
Otto Stork founded the Nobiskrug shipyard in Rendsburg, Germany in 1905. Originally employing just 18 workers, the first contract was a traditional wooden hopper barge. More constructions followed, and the Nobiskrug yard became well-known for their three-mast schooners, which became popular during the 1930s. Many of these Nobiskrug yachts are still on the water today. As the contracts came in, the ships became bigger, and the yard launched many innovative vessels during the later 20th century, including the 138m German navy training ship Deutschland, several car, passenger and train ferries, cargo ships, river cruise ships, icebreaker research vessels, and North Sea Dive support vessels. In the 1980s, the yard developed the first prototypes of closed lifeboats, which today are considered standard equipment on cargo ships worldwide.
The Nobiskrug Story
Larger Superyachts
It wasn’t until 2000 that the Nobiskrug shipyard launched their inaugural superyacht project: 92m Tatoosh, which at the time, was one of the largest superyachts in the world, and considered one of the most luxurious, with features such as a large swimming pool, a helicopter landing pad and a sailboat tender. Luxury yacht builder Nobiskrug completed construction of a high-tech, 160m superyacht shed in 2005 and acquired the Lindenau shipyard in Kiel in 2013 in order to facilitate further custom superyacht construction.
