You and your travel companions will be split into two teams for a genuine castaway experience that will see you in a race to return to your yacht. Find yourself washed ashore on a deserted beach on Union Island with a group of your travel companions, stranded after your vessel has sunk. Thankfully among your group is an ex-British Special Forces officer who’ll act as your expert survival guide.
Head deep into the jungle wilderness of the island with your teammates where you’ll be tested both mentally and physically, tasked with the challenges faced by a real castaway. Work with your team to successfully hunt, fish or forage for your food before attempting to build a fire from scratch. Items will have been planted on the island, washed up from your sunken vessel that you will have to search for in order to make a shelter for the night (these can be as minimalist or as luxurious as you desire).
The next day, after foraging and fishing for your breakfast, you will gather other washed-up materials to begin construction of a raft. It needs to be sturdy enough to get you and all your team mates back to the yacht. The first full team to return will be crowned as castaway champions. This experience can be tailored according to your group, from families with young children to honeymooning couples or bachelor parties seeking something more high-octane. You can opt to spend one night ashore or more and a celebrity survival guide or an ex-SAS officer can be source to put you through your paces on the island.
Guests are typically transferred ashore by tender from their yacht and take part in the challenge on Union Island. Throughout the experience, the yacht remains nearby, allowing guests to combine a genuine survival adventure with the comfort and support of a luxury charter.
No. The experience is designed for complete beginners, with your survival guide teaching the techniques needed along the way. Challenges can be adapted to suit different ages, abilities and confidence levels.
Comfortable clothing, swimwear, sturdy footwear, sun protection and insect repellent are recommended. Any specialist equipment required for the survival challenges will be provided.
The difficulty level can be adjusted to suit your group. Guests can opt for a relaxed, family-friendly challenge or a more demanding survival experience that tests both physical and mental resilience.
Its secluded beaches, unspoilt landscapes and remote feel create a convincing castaway setting, while still being easily accessible by yacht in the heart of the Grenadines.
Safety is always the priority. Should weather conditions affect the experience, timings can often be adjusted or alternative arrangements made in consultation with your captain and guide.
The answer varies by group, but many guests find building a fire, sourcing food or constructing a reliable raft to be the toughest tasks. Success often depends more on teamwork and creativity than physical strength.
For many guests, it's the stories they take home. From building a fire from scratch and sleeping under the stars to working as a team to make it back to the yacht, the experience creates memories that last long after the charter ends. After all, not everyone gets to say they survived being stranded on a deserted Caribbean island, even if they had a superyacht waiting just offshore.
