What to wear and why footwear really matters

First-Timer Tips: Insider Hacks for the Monaco Yacht Show 2026

First time at the Monaco Yacht Show? Here’s your quickfire guide to navigating it like a seasoned insider — and avoiding rookie mistakes.

Dress Code: Smart. Stylish. Weather-Savvy.

Monaco in late September is still warm so expect highs around 25°C. For daytime, lightweight linen, cotton, and breathable tailoring are your best friends. Sunglasses are not optional; neither is SPF.
At night, the dress code dials up. Think sleek dresses, tailored jackets, and well-cut shirts. Keep it classy Monte-Carlo.

Shoes: Deck-Ready & Pavement-Proof

On yachts: Always remove shoes unless told otherwise. If shoes are allowed, they’ll need to be clean, non-marking soles (stilettos are a big no no).

Off-yacht: Monaco has hills and stairs. Comfort matters, polished loafers, dressy flats, or smart sneakers will take you further than a strappy heel.

Show Navigation Hacks

  • Arrive early for your meetings, roads and docks can get congested.
  • Plan your tender routes
  • Book restaurants in advance, especially for dinner — the best tables are reserved weeks ahead.
  • Stay hydrated and take a break. Cool off in the Y.CO Clubhouse between yacht viewings with a selection of the most delicious beverages.
