Italia Deliziosa

Naples to Palermo. Travel around Italy’s top two culinary coastlines, in the company of food guides, Michelin stars and your own personal chef.

Tantalise the Tastebuds

Our 10-day cruise eats up Italy. The land where pizza and prosecco were invented. Where the first cookbook was written (in Sicily 2,500 years ago). Where most people eat their own weight in pasta each year. Yet enjoy one of the highest life expectancies on earth.  This foodie adventure orders the tastiest bites from Italy’s top two culinary coasts. Make pizza with professionals (in Naples). Dine with the country’s youngest Michelin-starred chef (on the Aeolian Island of Salina). Sample an Amalfi Coast dumpling so tasty it’s protected by UNESCO (in Positano).

Naples

1

Embark in Naples. For a culinary feast for the senses, take our immersive food tour to frutti di mare markets and flaming pizza ovens. Then cast off for the Amalfi Coast and your first gourmet dinner on deck. Enjoy Neapolitan gnocchi and seafood acqua pazza. Out at anchor, you’re far from the madding crowds (and screaming Vespas) of downtown Naples.

Ischia

2

Take the tender to Ischia and step back in time. Ride an eBike to Spiaggia Maronti beach, for your reservation at a tiny seafood eatery, Ristorante Emanuela. Its menu hasn’t changed since 1967. Dinner? A cooking class back on board. Dessert? Limoncello tart and lapping seas.

Capri

3

Wake up to Capri’s coolest drink. Granita al caffe con panna - iced espresso with almond milk and cream. Then stroll to La Piazzetta, Capri’s see-and-be-seen main square. For lunch, order insalata Caprese: mozzarella, tomatoes, basil - an edible version of Italy’s flag. Burn off calories with an armada of water toys. eFoils. Flyboards. Or an inflatable trampoline overlooking the Amalfi Coast.

Positano

5

This morning take a tender to the Amalfi Coast’s most telegenic town. Positano is a Picasso palette of Technicolor churches and café terraces. After lunch your captain will cruise to Cala di Mitigliano, a Robinson Crusoe beach accessible only by sea. Your crew can create a pirate picnic with torchlit tables and barbecued bream. Expect culinary memories of a lifetime. Every day.

Stromboli

6

Breakfast on fresh figs and pistachio cannolis while overlooking Stromboli, an active island volcano. Daredevil? Hike Stromboli’s 1,000m peak with a volcanologist arranged by your Y.CO Charter Specialist. Foodie? Try Spaghetti alla Stromboliana. A fiery dish of anchovies, chillies and squid.

Panarea

7

Today you’ll swim with the fish in Jacuzzi-warm seas. That’s because Panarea is surrounded by fumaroles. Warm jets of seismic bubbles that rise from the seabed. Spot grouper and damsel fish in the Champagne fizz. This evening your chef has planned a Sicilian tasting menu. Swordfish rolls. Wild fennel greens. Pignolata pastries. Served in silent Aeolian Island seas.

Salina

8

Step ashore at Salina for the Aeolian Island trinity. Warm sun, local food, fine wine. Your day starts with a stroll around Capofaro Winery, where grapes thrive in volcanic soil overlooking Stromboli. Your foodie experience ends with an island-sourced dinner of red prawns and blood oranges at Ristorante Signam, cooked by Italy’s youngest Michelin-starred chef.

Filicudi

9

Wake up. Sink a macchiato. Then put on a snorkel and GoPro. Because the tiniest Aeolian Island of Filicudi was founded by Ancient Greeks 2,500 years ago. The Greeks dropped wine amphoras and pottery plates into swimming pool seas. Dive an aquatic museum - colonised by yellow sponges and neon nudibranches.

Palermo

10

Disembark in Palermo, Sicily’s foodie capital. Your Y.CO Charter Specialist has arranged one final bite. A personal tour of Palermo's Vucciria Market to munch panelle chickpea fritters and frittola meat bite rolls. Drink a last pomegranate granita in the SUV en route Palermo Airport. Then wave at the Aeolian Islands as your jet ascends.
