My Story
I’ve always loved the sea and so it seemed entirely natural to join the Royal Navy when I left school. My naval life was an exhilarating roller-coaster ride as a helicopter and fighter pilot, commanding officer of 3 ships and finally heading maritime aviation for the RN and RAF as a Rear Admiral.
During my naval career I worked with some wonderful people all over the world and since leaving the Royal Navy I have undertaken a number of projects and positions associated with maritime safety at sea. Through one of these, I had the good fortune to meet Y.CO’s founders, Gary and Charlie, many years ago at the Antigua Yacht Show. Over a few days they explained their vision and passion for Y.CO and I was honoured to receive their invitation to join the senior Y.CO leadership team. I am now the Special Advisor, working closely with Gary, Charlie, Holly and James to chart Y.CO’s exciting course into the future.
My Passion
Being a Gemini, I have a real passion for people. Over my years with Y.CO I have met so many fabulous, energetic and impressive team players:I value greatly the bonds of friendship and trust that have developed with many of them. No matter what business we are in, it’s definitely the people who make the difference and we are so fortunate to have so many brilliant ones in Y.CO. I now spread my time between living with my family in Washington DC, London and Juan les Pins. I am a great believer in the mantra that anything is possible if you work at it hard enough.
