My Story

I have raced sailing boats since the age of 7, from dinghies to maxi yachts, competing in long offshore races to national and international regattas, so to say I like yachting would be an understatement! I spent 8 years as an Officer in the British Army and two seasons as a Skipper on Oyster yachts in the UK and Balearics, so I am well trained in hard work and being organised! My sailing is generally more sedate, racing a wooden clinker built one design dinghy and taking the family fishing in a rib!

I have served on the superyacht industry’s MYBA Charter Committee since 2008, which gives me a rare insight into charter disputes, plus involvement in the continual revisions to the MYBA Charter Agreement.

After over 28 years as a Charter Broker, I have extensive knowledge of the motor and sailing boats we propose, as well as the all important best crews, plus the various cruising areas and when to visit. I have built up great relationships with Owners and their yacht Managers, so I can best represent my Charterer’s interests. I adore to make every charter even better than the previous one and also introduce new Clients to the fun of chartering a superyacht.

One of the many things I enjoy about Y.CO is that the team feel as passionate about yachting as I do, something which is surprisingly rare in our industry!
